Performance & Movement Optimization, for Athletes, Dancers & Movers

You train hard. You repeat the same movements.
And somewhere along the way, pain, tension, or fear of re-injury started limiting you.

Maybe it’s:

  • Chronic aches that never fully go away
  • An injury that “healed,” but your movement doesn’t feel right
  • Tightness, shallow breathing, or loss of range
  • Performance anxiety, hesitation, or disconnect from your body
  • The sense that you’re strong—but not moving efficiently

The Balansa Method helps you rebuild trust in your body and move with intelligence, ease, and power.

Somatic Movement Therapy for Dancers, Athletes & Dedicated Movers

I work directly with dancers, athletes, and movers who want to:

  • Recover fully from injury or surgery
  • Reduce pain without forcing or overcorrecting
  • Improve alignment, posture, coordination, and breath
  • Move with more efficiency, expression, and control
  • Perform without fear, bracing, or burnout

As a Somatic Movement Therapist and Certified Movement Analyst, I look at how you move, not just what hurts. Pain is often a signal of compensation patterns, protective holding, or unresolved stress in the nervous system. We address all of it.

How the Balansa Method Supports You

The Balansa Method integrates movement mechanics, nervous system regulation, and embodied awareness to help you move better from the inside out.

This work can help you:
hands-on

  • Identify and release inefficient or compensatory movement patterns
  • Restore postural support, breath capacity, and coordination
  • Reduce strain and overuse injuries
  • Regain confidence after injury or trauma
  • Improve stamina, precision, and expressive range
  • Feel grounded, present, and in control while performing

This isn’t about pushing harder.
It’s about moving smarter with less effort and more clarity.

This Work Is Especially Helpful If You’re Dealing With:

  • Chronic pain or recurring injuries
  • Post-rehab movement that still feels “off.”
  • Limited mobility, tension, or imbalance
  • Performance anxiety or fear of re-injury
  • A disconnect between strength and fluidity
  • Integrating Efficiency and Expressivity (Mostly dancers and Martial artists).

I Can Relate To You From My Own Experience

As a competitive Capoeira (the Brazilian martial art) artist and instructor, and a ballroom dancer and teacher, I know the frustration, physical and emotional pain, and fear that come with injuries, competition, and the pressure to live up to your goals and expectations. They can cause us to compensate so we can move forward faster. The compensation creates unhealthy movement patterns, as well as thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

As a mother of two competitive athletes (and a third that loves martial arts), I stay aware and alert to how they move, how they treat their body-mind-soul, and learn how to support their journey. I would love to help you do the same for yourself and for your kids or clients.

Why is The Balansa Method so unique?

You might have tried PT, Pilates, Yoga, massage therapy, acupuncture, and more. Some of these
practices brought you relief, but the pain never really goes away.

The Balansa Method values the support of inner connectivity (muscles, bones, facia, breath) and
the space around us to create efficient movement patterns.

The knowledge and the tools that my clients gain through the process last a lifetime and support
them for the rest of their lives.

Start moving with clarity, strength, and confidence again.
