Somatic Workout class for teen girls

This Weekly class is designed to empower our daughters by creating a safe training environment where they can workout and interact.
It combines training methods such as strength and resistance training, HIIT and Round training, kicking and punching, Pilates, and BF work.
Each class will end with a mindfulness practice focused on grounding and centering.
This class allows the girls to connect, interact, and improve their social skills.
As a mother of two teen girls (and an adult young man) and a group facilitator for over 20 years, I aim to inspire, empower, and encourage the girls to feel confident and comfortable with their body image and how they move.

The Embodied Quest series: Somatic Movement & Movement Analysis Workshops

Why should I join?
We all need to pause sometimes, breathe, and relax. We tend to get ‘sucked’ into our daily routine without stopping to question our automatic emotional and physical reactions and responses. This workshop is an opportunity to do just that in a peaceful and inviting space, enjoying herbal tea and serenity.
This class will help you relax, connect with your natural breathing rhythm, enhance your inner flow, and leave you grounded and centered.

What is somatic movement?
Somatic movement enhances well-being through mindful awareness of the body’s sensations and movements.

What is Laban Bartenieff’s Movement analysis?
This is a comprehensive system for observing, describing, and understanding human movement based on the principles of Rudolf Laban and Irmgard Bartenieff.

What methods, systems, tools, and approaches will be explored?

  • Balansa Method fundamentals.
  • Laban-Bartenieff Movement Analysis.
  • Somatic Experiencing.
  • Mindfulness.
  • Breath practice.
  • And more.

How is this different from Yoga, Meditation, or other mindfulness practices?
Most of these practices focus on the Inner process and one aspect at a time. The Balansa Method Practice Incorporates the wisdom of ancient methods with science-based knowledge to create harmony and integrate your internal world with your environment.

What happens at the workshop?
Each Embodied Quest workshop combines theory with practical practice, gentle movement, Breath practice, mindfulness, and reflection.

What if I’m injured or have a physical limitation?
That’s not a problem. The movement is gentle and not intended to build muscle strength or speed.

How often do we meet?
We offer one workshop every month.

What if I miss a workshop?
It’s ok. Join us when you can. Simply Choose your workshop from the list below

Past’s Pathways: Exploring Early Childhood Patterns From An Adult Perspective

Join Rotem Hornedo, a registered somatic movement therapist and a certified movement analyst, to discover how your early experiences shape who you are today and learn practical tools for creating change.

Irmgard Bartenieff was a gifted movement analyst, choreographer, and physical therapist. Through her work with sick children at a NY hospital, she identified six stages of development from birth until crawling, called Body Organization Patterns. In each stage, the baby develops and improves an internal connection. These connections enhance movement by promoting efficient coordination and integration of the body. These patterns emphasize dynamic alignment, breath support, and spatial awareness to improve movement quality and expressiveness.

How these Patterns are created affects our emotional, physical, cognitive, and behavioral patterns as adults.

In this unique event, you will get to pick your own patterns and how they identify who you are today. This will give you a fresh perspective and help you decide what you do that is getting you closer to your goals and what you would like to change.
